Position: Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities:
1.Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough, in-person assessments of children's abilities and challenges related to developmental delays, learning problems, autism, ASD, and ADHD.
Utilise standardised tools and clinical observations to diagnose difficulties accurately.
2.Intervention and Treatment:
Develop personalised strategies and treatment plans to address identified challenges and support children in overcoming developmental obstacles.
Implement evidence-based interventions to promote developmental milestones and enhance overall well-being.
3.Environmental Assessment and Modification:
Evaluate the patient's environment, including home and school settings, and recommend modifications to enhance accessibility and support therapeutic goals
4.Patient Education:
Teach patients and their families exercises and strategies that can be incorporated into daily life to facilitate skill development and independence.
Provide guidance on adaptive techniques and equipment that may aid in daily activities.
5.Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to care and consistent implementation of strategies at home.
Liaise with other treating professionals, such as speech therapists and educators, to discuss patient progress and coordinate interventions.
MUST HAVE:
AHPRA Registration as an Occupational Therapist
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Occupational Therapy
Specialised training or experience in paediatric occupational therapy
Previous experience in assessing and treating children with developmental delays, learning problems, autism, ASD, and ADHD
Skills and Competencies:
Strong clinical assessment skills
Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for paediatric occupational therapy
Effective communication and collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other professionals
Ability to create and implement personalised treatment plans
Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
