Role:
We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join a growing team. The organisation focuses on serving a diverse clientele, particularly adults and teens facing intellectual disabilities, including NDIS participants, private clients and participants with Medicare plans.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing direct assessment, intervention, and support planning to participants in the service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions for clients in the outer east and south-east regions, with a maximum travel radius of 30 minutes from the office base.
- Develop intervention plans aligned with client NDIS goals and in accordance with evidence-based best practices.
- Prioritise effective communication, ensuring integrated service delivery, coordinating follow-ups, and maintaining open communication with key stakeholders, care team members, and support coordinators.
- Embrace a holistic approach to healthcare in line with community and organisational priorities.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of information in the electronic health record system.
- Collaborate with support coordinators and referring clinics to monitor client progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current membership with AHPRA.
- Proven experience working within the NDIS framework.
- Awareness of the rights of people with disabilities.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to support participants.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office and computer literacy skills.
- Current Driver’s License and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and NDIS Worker Screen Check.
