About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for Occupational Therapists with clinical experience in acute care to join our occupational therapy department and specialty medicine multidisciplinary team at Box Hill Hospital. This position is currently based on our Acute Neurosciences (which includes our acute stroke unit) and renal units. This position involves the provision of direct clinical care, support in complex decision making and efficient discharge planning to enhance patient outcomes and flow. The successful applicant will be involved in supervising staff and students and working closely with the multidisciplinary team at Box Hill Hospital to provide excellent patient care. The position is well supported by the grade 3 and grade 4 clinical lead Occupational Therapists.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- AHPRA Registration
- Demonstrated clinical experience working with patients presenting with neurological conditions including stroke
- Demonstrated capacity in managing complex discharge planning
- Experience in supervision of staff and students
- Demonstrated capacity to show leadership in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- Strong commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
- Commitment to own continual professional development
