Local Bendigo Allied Health firm is looking for an experienced and qualified Occupational Therapist!
Position Overview:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team. Your role will involve assessing, planning, and implementing interventions to enhance the functional abilities of our clients. These will include functional assessments, sensory assessments, accommodation assessments, behaviour support, therapy and capacity building for our customers, clients and care teams. You will utilise your skills to achieve beneficial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning.
- Identify areas of impairment and develop a comprehensive understanding of their occupational challenges.
Treatment Planning:
- Collaborate with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to create individualised treatment plans.
- Set functional goals and establish intervention strategies to improve daily living skills, work performance, and leisure activities.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and treatment outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with team members and referring physicians.
Client Education:
- Empower clients and their families by teaching self-management strategies.
- Offer guidance on home modifications, safety measures, and community resources.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Obtained Occupational Therapist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Current working with Children's Check and Police Check.
- Expectation to travel is required; a Current valid Driver's License.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and ability to develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and relevant assessments.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
