At Patches, we provide comprehensive assessment, consulting, and therapy services to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders in regional and remote areas. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Therapy services, ensuring the highest standards of care and service excellence.

A typical day in the role may look like…

  • Provide face-to-face or Telehealth services to our participants from our Broome office.
  • Work with a paediatric caseload.
  • In addition to the above, you will provide Occupational Therapy services to our participants in their homes, schools, or community centres within the Broome area.
  • Monthly or fortnightly outreach trips within the Kimberley and Derby regions to provide face-to-face services to our regional participants.
  • Regular multidisciplinary meetings with other Patches’ disciplines to optimise holistic care and multidisciplinary goal setting for participants.
  • Complete relevant non-face-to-face work, including writing progress notes, resource preparation and report writing.
  • Support from OT colleagues that provide experience in remote service, technology prescription, paediatric home modifications, mealtime support, relational therapy, behaviour support, and sensory processing approaches
  • Patches prioritises evidence-based practice and a parent-child relational model.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and knowledge of the disability sector, particularly working within the NDIS.
  • Experience working with a paediatric and/or youth background, including practical knowledge of current developmental assessments, tools, and intervention.
  • Relevant professional registration
  • National Police Clearance 
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Australian Driver’s License
  • Proof of Work rights (Australian Passport/ Citizenship certificate, or a Valid Visa)
