About the Role
The OH&S Coordinator plays a critical part in enhancing the safety for all people engaged by the Church and provides expertise to drive the Synod’s workplace safety capability agenda. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the OH&S Coordinator provides accurate and timely advice to managers and staff within the UCA as well as to ministries and congregations across the Synod, in line with legislation, policies and procedures.
In addition to building capability and providing advice across the Synod, the person in this role also coordinates the OH&S Committee, conducts site inspections, manages injury management and return to work processes, assesses risks and recommends mitigation strategies, provides accurate and timely reports and maintains registers to meet legislative requirements, and drafts policies and procedures for their area of work.
The OH&S Coordinator is required onsite at 130 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Tertiary qualification in education, psychology, human resources, OH&S or a related field
- A Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training is essential
- Minimum four years’ experience in a similar role
The successful candidate will:
- Have a Working with Children Check
- Have a current Victoria Driver’s Licence
- Have the right to work in Australia
- Undergo a national Police Check before commencement
