Roster: 8/6 FIFO Ex Perth
Reporting directly to Superintended Operational Readiness this role will be responsible for providing operational support, coordination, and development feedback across a variety of Fortescue Technology Applications. These include in-house developed Fleet Management Systems and Autonomous Haulage Applications. This role will work closely and intermediary between the operational staff, internal and external developers, product suppliers and key project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining new technology systems standards and best practices.
- Providing Mining Application governance, including recommendations about setup, configuration, and best use practices.
- Being the “go-to” person for new technology operational expertise & knowledge.
- Working with Fortescue, OEMs, and operational teams to identify, prioritise, analyse, and resolve operational system related issues.
- Providing operational support, systems upskilling and coaching with Control teams and other Business units.
- Facilitating system expertise and knowledge transfer to operational teams and leaders.
- Provide in-depth feedback and operational expertise to a team of Systems Specialists and Improvements Engineers within Fortescue, working closely with Application Specialists. Engineers, key operational and project stakeholders.
- Contributing to identifying opportunities, analysing, and implementing continuous improvements projects.
- Advocate, integrate and improve on existing technology change management process.
- Contribute to the development and sustainment of robust support processes and methodologies, which in-turn assists the management of tactical and strategic interactions between Technology & Autonomy and other business units across the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience with Autonomous Haulage Systems.
- 3+ years’ operational experience in an open cut mining environment.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience coaching and developing high performing teams within a mining environment.
- Advanced computer literacy & passion for Mining Autonomy, Innovation and Technology.
- Data management Skills highly regarded.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to multitask on several activities/priorities at the same time.
- Proficiency of Autonomous Mining Systems Applications is essential.
