We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations manager to help lead and build our Queensland team. This role will offer strong leadership and support to our highly-skilled technical team, ensuring our clients and their audiences are consistently impressed.
The Role:
The Operations Manager will be technically capable, possessing a thorough understanding of the life cycle of a live event. We predominantly operate in the 5-star venue market servicing corporate clients, therefore an in-depth level of experience in the corporate events industry is highly regarded.
This role is based in our Willawong, Brisbane office, overseeing the operations, warehouse and technical teams. A key feature of this role is the wide variety of operational and logistic event requirements that our team undertake on a daily basis. Daily tasks include managing the resources, oversight of technician utilisation, logistics and warehouse management, safe work practices, asset management and liaising with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key tasks:
• Ongoing management of our highly skilled team of technical resources including sub-contractors.
• Building scale and capability by attracting, screening, employing, and onboarding new technical staff members.
• Process development, implementation, and improvement.
• Asset management and developing business cases to deliver to senior management for procurement decisions.
• Ensuring cost KPIs are achieved through effective crew management and rostering.
• Evaluating and reporting on the operational costs of the business to the senior management team.
•Developing internal customer management and establishing effective interstate customer relationships.
•Implement best practices and identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings in both locations.
Skills required:
• Experience working in 5-star venue environment highly desirable.
• Critical to this role, the individual must have a proven track record managing large scale warehouse or operations management.
• Sound financial and business acumen.
• Skills in rostering and payroll administration would be highly regarded.
• Proficient use of Office suite (Excel, word, etc).
• Highly organised with an ability to work within tight deadlines.
• Proficient communicator.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
• Experience with Rental Point (or similar) and/or Resource Management software would be highly regarded
• Experience in a technical environment would be advantageous
• Must have a ‘can do’ attitude
Required licenses/certifications:
• Australian Driver’s License (Manual preferred)
Highly Regarded Licenses/Certifications:
• Relevant Degree/Certificate in Operations/Sound engineering/Logistics or Project Management
• First Aid Certificate
