My client is an advanced manufacturing and technologies development group located in the northern suburbs. They have operations across three continents. This client's main focus is paper to product innovation, integration and manufacturing. They develop high-end polymer and textile manufacturing solutions for the medical, pharmaceutical, mobility, food and beverage industries.
Your new role
This is a full-time permanent role based in the northern suburbs. It is ideally suited for someone with a background in FMCG environments paired with sound mechanical understanding and you will have strong purchasing and operations. This will be a varied position that could see you as a core member of the leadership team. You will be responsible for, but not limited to;
- Analyse and control company spend to leverage any cost opportunities that may exist.
- Oversee all high-level purchasing negotiations and supply contracts and direct relevant staff on procurement where required.
- Responsible for the performance of the Purchasing, Logistics and Production departments.
- Ensure that departments are performing in line with their standards. Encourage periodic reviews of the audits to promote continuous improvement.
- Manage the drive for continuous improvement of the COG's %.
- To analyse and report on production and logistics performance (DIFOT).
- Identify focus areas for productivity initiatives aimed at reducing manufacturing costs.
- Develop and maintain reports.
- Update and maintain cost accuracy.
- Liaise with all sister plants to successfully transition product flawlessly.
- Prioritise tasks amongst workgroups and ensure focus is on strategically important activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience within Purchasing and/or Operations management.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain a focused and objective view when issues arise.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Great with systems and Excel.
- Good understanding of lean Six Sigma techniques.
