About us:
Pickleball Australia Association Ltd. (PAA) is the governing body for the sport of pickleball in Australia and is a member of the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF). Established in 2020, presently PAA has 7 State/Territory member associations, 150+ affiliated clubs/venues and 10,000+ financial members.
Our sport is in its infancy stage in Australia and it is no easy task setting up the governing body of a sport from scratch; that's why we are appointing a team who we know can help develop our sport into the number one participation sport in Australia.
The role:
As the Operations Manager of Coaching and Officiating at Pickleball Australia you are the driving force behind these two important areas of our organisation.
You will be responsible for advancing and coordinating the training and development of coaches and officials around Australia whilst ensuring our coaches and officials have the ongoing tools and resources they need in order to be successful.
This is a new and exciting role with Pickleball Australia and you will have the opportunity to shape these two areas of pickleball in Australia.
Your responsibilities:
- Coordinate the training and development of coaches and officials in Australia
- Manage operational aspects of coach and Officiating membership such as accreditations, WWCC (or equivalent), First Aid, National Police Checks etc
- Manage Pickleball Australia’s on demand resource centre allowing coaches and officials the resources they need in order to succeed.
- Day to day administration duties of the officiating and coaching departments.
- Coordination of referees for Pickleball Australia sanctioned/recognised tournaments, courses and workshops in collaboration with the PAA Officiating Committee.
- Develop and rollout documentation and services regarding equipment testing and standards.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Sports Administration/Management or similar
- Qualification in Training and Assessment (Desirable but not essential)
- Referee qualification - any sport (Desirable but not essential)
- Coaching qualification - any sport (Desirable but not essential)
Experience:
- Match officiating experience in any sport and/or sports coaching experience in any sport
- Experience working in a sport at a grassroots level
- Experience in a sport at a semi-professional level (desirable but not essential)
- Experience working with or managing volunteers
