The Role:
Currently, a permanent position exists for an Operations Specialist within their Ocean Bulk team located at Geelong in Victoria. Reporting to the Head of Bulk Operations, this position will see you playing a key role providing support, coordination and management of bulk shipments
within a small team of dedicated Operations Specialists in an open plan and collaborative working environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring all orders and space allocation are actioned in a timely manner
- Booking and securing space for available locations.
- Ensuring that all booking files / orders are created in an accurate and timely manner
- Liaising with internal department or teams to ensure full utilisation of available space.
- Providing assistance to the Sales team with pricing, costing and procurement.
- Utilising cost breaks to match customer requirements and assisting in keeping cost breaks accurate for Operations and Sales
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of the company's products or services
- Ensure financial file accuracy in that all information correspondence with the sales quote before processing for approval
- Working in line with WHS regulations and standards
- Ensurie that all required activities are accurate, kept up-to-date and maintained
- Check responses from counterparts and finalise validation of required documents.
- Follows-up shipment status in the Export area, identifies incidents and ensures resolution of incidents.
- Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers
- Identifying performance issues of suppliers and proposes solutions to improve/correct performance
- Performs IT systems related tasks to provide up to date information on shipments
- Industry Knowledge & experience of the Bulk Liquid Market and Chemical industry
- Minimum two (2) years previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in a similar role
- Be result driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic.

- Tertiary qualification or similar experience
- Excellent English communications abilities
- Customer Service focus
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively

- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

- Strong organisational and time management skills

- Previous CARGOWISE experience (Well regarded)
- Well-developed administrative skills
- Results driven and attention to detail.

This position will see your hours of work being 830am – 5pm Monday to Friday with occasional additional hours during peak periods. You will have the opportunity to engage in a hybrid work from home arrangement following the completion of a probation period, along with opportunities to earn performance-based bonuses.
