Lick Ice Cream, located at our Seventeen Mile Rocks factory, is currently on the lookout for an enthusiastic Operations/Business Development Manager to assist with the manufacturing and supply of premium ice cream. We require an ‘all-rounder’ that has the appetite to grow their career with an iconic Queensland business.
Lick Ice Cream manufactures real, premium ice cream, made in a traditional way using real ingredients. This method has created amazing demand at our own retail shops as well as major supermarkets, gourmet grocery stores and upmarket restaurants/hotels. You may have even tried our ice cream in the Ekka sundae!
We pride ourselves on creating a quality product and require an energetic, well organised and self-motivated person to join our team as we continue to expand and grow. We have a small team and work hard but have fun at the same time. The owners are active in the business and will be there to assist with admin/operations duties (including taking orders, order entry and fulfilment). You won’t get bored on this job, with plenty of job variety and people interaction.
This is a full time position; Monday to Friday8.00am – 4.00pm (flexibility to start earlier or work later)
Your day will commence in the role of ‘Operations Management’
- Using our inventory management software you collate and key orders of the day, compile inventory ‘pick sheets’ and assist with ‘Picking and packing’ orders as required
- Working with our ‘Head of Production’, you will compile Manufacturing order for following day for the factory team
- You will answer phones/customer queries
- At random times you will assist in the export of our ice cream
Late morning will allow you to stretch your legs and get out on the road in one of our Lick freezer delivery vans. Here you will be the face of Lick conducting deliveries and ‘Business Development’
- Load stock into the van – you will need to have a level of fitness that will allow you to stack multiple boxes of ice cream
- Deliveries across Brisbane
- Business Development/sales/order taking when required
- Call on existing customers and increase sales and shelf presence
- Upon returning to the office, you will follow up on leads with existing and new customers.
This role may lead to further career progression within the company.
Whilst not essential, a degree in Business/Commerce would assist you in this role – but if you hold another degree (or not) and looking for a career change, please apply.
You must have a full car drivers license with a clean record.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a production environment will be helpful
- A basic understanding of inventory management processes - we will offer on the job training
- Sales experience – although we can offer on the job training
- An understanding of HACCP food safety principals
- Ability to remain calm, multitask and accurate data entry
- Good time management skills
- A happy and ‘can do’ attitude
