Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for Operators to join Mount Isa Mines. These are excellent opportunities to commence a career within the mining industry or further your experience and develop your technical skills and industry knowledge. The successful applicants will be someone that is hands on and keen to develop and learn the skills found within the Copper Smelting Operations. These positions are residentially based in Mount Isa.
The Role
Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for roles in the team for Operators based at the Copper Smelter – Primary and Secondary
These positions report to the Primary or Secondary Supervisors- working a 2Day 2 Night 4 off roster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
- Maintain Plant hygiene and housekeeping around the plant
- Training in area of the plant
- Manual handling tasks
- Progressing through to other more challenging tasks within a short timeframe
- Working with the teams to support production targets are safely met.
- Maintaining a high level of safety in the way we work
- Monitoring, reporting and conducting thorough equipment prestart inspections.
- Safe operation of machinery across site and positive communication
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels & Basic computer skills
- Always being fit for work
- Flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
- Ability to achieve results within the specified time frames.
- Strong customer focus is required as well as a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervision
