The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orderly to join our Emergency Department (ED) at Cabrini Malvern, on a full-time basis. We offer a supportive environment where the team work closely to achieve best patient outcomes and provide high standards of care.
The applicant needs to be a caring person who is passionate about helping others, as a large focus of the orderly role involves patient transport and interaction.
The Orderly role requires the successful candidate to be flexible in their working hours and have availability to work a rotating seven-day roster.
Key responsibilities
- The ability to work the following shifts - 8am to 4pm, and 4pm to midnight.
- Transporting patients and equipment around the ED and hospital-wide.
- Providing support and assistance, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other clinical staff.
- Provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
- Contribute to the team, cooperate and communicate.
- Performs cleaning duties & maintains cleanliness of equipment.
About you
We are seeking an experienced orderly, or from a similar work environment. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with the initiative and energy to support the ED environment.
You will also have:
- Essential: Patient Service Assistant Certificate 3 in Health
- Flexible working availability as your hours will be scheduled over a 7-day roster.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to take direction.
- Sound communication skills, proficient in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role.
