Our client is seeking to engage an Organizational Design / Workforce Planner.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 6 months, with option to extend up to 12 months

Statement of Work:
The agency is seeking an organisational design professional to work within our Workforce, Insight and Reporting team, within our People Services area, to conduct an organisational design project on Agency’s leadership roles. Due to the nature of the review, while the candidate will be in a supportive team environment, the successful candidate will need to work independently.
The work required will include the following:
- Conduct role evaluations using the APS Role Evaluation Tool
- Conduct interviews with staff to gather information regarding the role responsibilities and accountabilities, including tasks, duties and delegations.
- Verify information and seek further information with role supervisors (General Managers – SES Band1)
- Assess the information gathered against the APS Work Level Standards using the APS Role Evaluation Tool
- Write up the assessments and outcomes
- Analyse outcomes to look for opportunities considering best practice organisational design and the APS Optimal Management Structures Guidance.
- Brief the Agency Executive (Management Committee) on outcomes and work with them to develop solutions if required.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues within the Organisational Design team in HR to coordinate the project.
- Lead this project with EL2 Workforce Planning, including planning and managing this activity.
- Communicate effectively with peers and Executive.
- Work independently to assess and write up role evaluation outcomes and challenge status quo.
- Work to tight deadlines - be highly organised and well-coordinated.
