Flinders Park Primary School is a culturally diverse community located in the Western Suburbs. We offer before, after school care along with Vacation and Pupil free day care to our families. The service is licensed for 45 children and is growing. We are very well supported by our Governing Council and school leadership as we see it as a direct extension of the education and care we provide throughout the day. As the Director, the successful applicant will be required to work between 30-35 hours, Monday -Friday, with hours negotiated including before school (6.45-9.45), afterschool (2.45pm-6.15pm) plus any administrative duties required during school hours. Vacation care and pupil free day hours to be negotiated with the possibility of additional hours during these times. This role has the flexibility to be permanent part time or full time, depending on availability of successful, qualified applicant.
An immediate start is required.
Qualifications & experience
- AQF Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Out of Schools Care or Children's Services or relevant Degree or Early Childhood Education qualification
- Experience in an OSHC setting with a leadership role.
- Sound knowledge of My Time Our Place and Childcare management systems
- Effective knowledge and application of the NQF standards, School Age Care framework, QIP and National Regulations
- WWCC Certificate of completion for RRHAN-EC HLTAID009 Provide CPR HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education Setting
- Demonstrated understanding of the administrative requirements of an OSHC service, including policies, procedures and finance.
- Organized, flexible and the ability to prioritize workloads, be proactive and manage multiple tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently, efficiently and accurately.
- Highly personable to relate and develop relationships with children of different ages and their families.
Tasks & responsibilities
- As a Director of our service, you will be accountable for the overall operation, create a vibrant, interesting, varied and appropriate children's program. The Director will oversee the administration of the OSHC and Vacation Care Service, ensuring that:
- A vibrant and varied, appropriate program is developed and implemented to meet the ongoing needs of the children. The philosophy, policies and procedures of the service are upheld, implemented, and reviewed regularly to meet relevant requirements.
- South Australian Standards for an OSHC service are met as minimum operational standards within the service.
- The service attains and maintains Quality Assurance accreditation.
- All relevant legal and statutory requirements are monitored, complied with and implemented.
- Leadership is provided to ensure quality care for children, and direction, support and continuous learning for staff.
