Child Development Institute are currently looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist with interest and experience in paediatrics and AAC to join their multi-disciplinary early intervention team in Northmead, Western Sydney.

- Salary range $99,000 - $111,000 (incl Super) based on experience and skill development.

The Child Development Institute is an early intervention centre for children aged 1 – 8 years with autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay.
About the Opportunity:
We offer a unique opportunity to work beyond the 1:1 clinic setting with interventions delivered in a range of group programs for children and carers which are supported by early education teachers, special education teachers, psychologists, and behavioural therapists.
We have a strong emphasis on empowering our team to reach their full potential both professionally and personally with the opportunity to receive weekly ongoing professional development that enhances your practice as a Speech Pathologist and builds your insight and critical thinking skills.
We support and advocate for multi-modal communication and offer the opportunity to lead the assessment, solution matching and implementation of the communication strategy across multiple environments. Our Speech Pathologists coach and mentor other members of the multi-disciplinary team, families and external supports in the implementation of individualised AAC solutions.
A typical caseload would include children from 1 – 8 years with autism, developmental delays, language delays, and speech difficulties. You will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with like-minded allied health and education professionals to provide integrated services for families with dedicated time for case consultations and administration.
About You:
You are a qualified Speech Pathologist looking for a new and exciting opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge working with children with speech and language difficulties including autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays.
You are passionate about providing innovative, evidence-based and client-centred services to children and their families in clinic and group education settings. You are enthusiastic about supporting teachers and behaviour therapists in their understanding of speech and language processing and implementation of AAC.
You have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well both within a team and independently, and a commitment to develop and maintain links with community resources and agencies. Your work has excellent attention to detail and you have good time management and organisational skills to manage your own caseload.
You will require:
- A tertiary degree in Speech Pathology.
- Current Speech Pathology Australia membership.
- Experience assessing and implementing AAC and speech/language programs for children.
- Proficiency with a range of technology, including using databases, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the capacity to develop skills in telehealth applications.
- A NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
- A current first aid certificate, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR certification or be willing to obtain this.
