In this role you will:
Promote a collaborative culture through positive actions and through knowledge sharing by supporting the team to actively support TCC strategic outcomes and change practices.
Be accountable, productive and an engaged member of the workforce operating in a constructive culture demonstrating organisational values to ensure the continuous improvement of service delivery.
Deliver efficient and effective parking services to:
Ensure a smooth traffic flow in the CBD and wider Townsville suburbs.
Ensure that emerging advancements on regulated parking is maintained and industry best practice is demonstrated.
Ensure regular face to face interactions with the public are conducted in a professional manner.
Ensure the efficient and balanced enforcement of parking regulations.
Follow reasonable directions to maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event.
Maintaining public safety through the investigation and removal of “abandoned” vehicles.
Support compliance enforcement activities throughout Townsville Campgrounds.
About you
To be considered for this role you will need:
Previous experience in a regulatory or similar enforcement related roles.
Current unrestricted Queensland “C” class drivers licence.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, showing initiative and good judgement with identifiable outcomes and decision making.
Investigation skills, including the ability to gather and present sustainable evidence for prosecution in court in relation to offences under legislation.
Intermediate knowledge of standard traffic signage and parking regulations including but not limited to Local Laws, the Local Government Act 2009, Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995.
Knowledge of council’s enforcement strategies and processes.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate to the public in an authoritative and diplomatic manner, particularly in dispute and confrontational situations.
Intermediate computer skills, including the ability to maintain digital recording equipment, operation of handheld ticketing devices as well as accurate data entry and record keeping.
Sound time management and prioritisation skills.
Ability to enter data accurately and in a timely manner.
