The City of Cockburn’s busy Parking Operations team is looking for casual team members to assist during high workload periods.
Appointments will be made on a casual basis. Applicants assessed as suitable but not offered immediate work will be placed in a Casual Pool, which will operate for 3 months from the date of the initial placement in the pool, from which further employment opportunities may be offered.
As a casual Parking Officer, you will be involved in the enforcement of various State Acts and local laws; related to Local Government matters such as Illegal parking, abandoned vehicles and other parking matters.
Applicants must possess the following;
- Possess problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and conciliation skills.
- Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good time management abilities.
- Proficient in utilizing a wide range of computer technologies, including smartphones, tablet computers, and peripheral devices.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness even with limited supervision.
- Demonstrates physical fitness and stamina necessary for performing Parking Enforcement duties, which may require extended periods of walking on foot.
- Possession of a Satisfactory National Police Certificate.
- Holding a Current and Valid Driver's License (Class C).
- Willingness to operate a vehicle equipped with GPS and surveillance devices.
- Willingness and ability to wear a body camera during all assigned duties.
- Certification in Provide First Aid.
Our Parking Operations Service operates 7 days a week, and the successful applicant must be available to work outside of normal office hours, weekends and some public holiday periods, at which point penalty rates would be payable.
The City will provide uniforms and also the use of a parking vehicle during working hours.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a recruitment pool and may be approached for casual work arising within a three month period from the closing date.
Hourly rate: $45.30 per hour, plus penalties.
