Our Ranger Services team is now seeking a proactive team player with a passion for community engagement to join our parking compliance team.

Your role will involve advising and educating the community on parking regulations, ensuring voluntary compliance, and conducting compliance checks across the City of Melville. You'll issue cautions and infringement notices, gather evidence, and report any safety concerns or damages to parking signs. You will also inspect ticket machines and assist in court proceedings when necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Essential – Current “C” class drivers licence Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Essential - Previous experience in a Ranger or Parking Officer role.
  • Proven experience to demonstrate working within a diverse community.
  • Desirable – Regulatory Office Compliance Skills 1 & 2 (ROCS) – (formally Municipal Law A & B).
  • Desirable – Certificate IV in Local Government Regulatory Services.
  • Experience in the use of City of Melville ICT applications, specifically Pathway UX.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft suite of products.
  • Experience and ability to read and interpret legislation ie: City of Melville Local Laws and State Acts. 
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution experience.
  • Confident, resilient and able to maintain composure under pressure. 
  • Knowledge of court procedures including giving evidence.
