The Opportunity
As the Leading Hand for Orbost, you’ll lead a small team to maintain the Orbost Parks and Gardens to the highest possible standard.
You’ll take on:
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to recognised standards relevant to the particular trade
- Developing and monitoring works schedules for the Parks and Gardens team
- Providing technical and specialist horticultural advice
- Provide support to senior staff on technical, operational and budgetary decisions.
- Providing input into maintenance methodology, schedules and logistics.
This is a full-time ongoing position based from the Orbost Depot. A Tools of Trade vehicle will be provided to the successful applicant.
Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)
- Qualifications and experience in Horticulture. Minimum Certificate III.
- Qualifications or experience in traffic management regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct staff, communicate effectively with team members and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision.
- To be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to work non-standard hours and at various locations as required.
- A current, valid Victorian Driver’s licence.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical assessment.
