Vanilla Bakehouse in vibrant Eaton Mall, Oakleigh is one of Melbourne’s renowned destinations for Greek casual dining, special events, desserts and coffee.
We are a family run business with more than 45 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. We have recently renovated our casual dining space to reflect a modern atmosphere for our customers to enjoy 7 days a week, dining from early morning to late at night.
The Vanilla family is proud and excited to launch this new chapter and are seeking highly talented and experienced Pasty Chefs to support our Bakehouse team and continue to deliver delicious specialty cakes, biscuits and sweets.
A day in this role at Vanilla will include:
- Preparing savouries and sweets including cakes, biscuits, and breads
- Following daily production procedures
- Decorating baked goods
- Glazing pastries and icing cakes
- Preparing pastry fillings
- Upholding hygiene and food safety standards.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Demonstrate experience (5years +) with specialist knowledge in a high functioning pastry kitchen
- Show a high-level creativity with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate techniques applicable to specialty cakes
- Work autonomously and alongside a cohesive team
- Highly reliable with the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment
- Applicants must have the ability to work well in a team environment, contributing their passion and ideas with a positive attitude
- Must understand and apply Food Safety and OH&S policies and procedures
- A passion for and knowledge of how to prepare Greek pastries.
