About the role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to contribute to a quality, professional culinary operation that celebrates seasonal and local Victorian produce.
You be responsible for the design and delivery of all pastry items across the Parliament's restaurants, café and events, developing pastry items to the highest quality of both presentation and flavours that our customers will come back for.
About you
The successful candidate will have experience leading a pastry kitchen or section in commercial kitchens, with the ability to produce contemporary pastry items for café and restaurant settings as well as banqueting, functions and events.
You will have demonstrated experience in the application of OHS, HACCP, food safety regulations and requirements for commercial kitchens and catering functions.
Similarly, you will also have experience developing recipes and techniques which ensures consistent high-quality items whilst minimising wastage, exercising portion control and controlling costs.

The process from here
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview conducted by a selection panel. This interview may take place in our offices located in the Melbourne CBD or online.
Preferred candidates will additionally be required to participate in a supervised kitchen trial to assess technical skills.
