The Grain Emporium is currently seeking qualified / experienced Pastry Chefs with at least 3 years experience to join our growing team.
Job Type: FULL TIME - Day 6:30am to 2:30pm
We are looking for a great Pastry Chef to join our cooking dream team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and driven Pastry Chef to build menus, share their knowledge and experience and delight our customers taste buds.
Applicants require to have the following:
- At least 3 years experience in cake decorating techniques including mixing and baking
- Experience in using mixers ovens and pastry sheeters
- Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings so that they are appealing to the eye
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, savory items, cookies, pies and breads
- Adhere to strict cleaning and food hygiene programs
- Working in a team environment
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Passion for baking and pastry decorating
- Flexibility working weekend shifts is essential, subject to business requirements.
Ongoing training provided and ability to suggest new menu items. Can monitor supplies and ingredients necessary for daily operations and check quality of material and condition of equipment.
Must be able to show they can work in a team and time management is essential.
