So, what does a typical day look like?
As a Pastry Chef, you will be accountable for the preparation of all cakes, pastries and desserts for business and economy class passengers across various Domestic and International airlines.
In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
- Volume batch preparation of cakes, pastries and desserts for business and economy class for our various airline clients.
- Stock control and minimize food wastage.
- Cleaning and maintaining a hygienic work environment at all times.
- Strictly following menu specifications as well as all Food Safety / HACCP, WHS and QSAI policies.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker.
- Must hold relevant Pastry Chef qualifications.
- Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be motivated, hardworking and have a good attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
- Clear understanding of HACCP.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred but not essential.
