About the position
The Payroll and Accounts Officer is responsible for supporting the operational management of Glen Education’s daily financial activities. The role will work closely with the Finance Manager and the GM Shared Services to improve and enhance the organisation’s performance and improve the commercial maturity and rigor of the organisation. The role will include Payroll and transactional processing to support the day to day running of the finance team’s operational requirements and will work closely with the Customer Relations Team regarding invoicing, and HR regarding payroll.
Day to day duties will include:
Payroll
- Review the accuracy of timesheets, approvals and classifications, and consult with HR accordingly.
- Prepare and process fortnightly pay run in Employment Hero for over 200 employees.
- Review and process all employee leave and other entitlements as required.
- Review and process all employee allowances and deductions as required.
- Record and respond to employee queries, questions and concerns about payroll services and communicate any matters to HR.
- Monthly pay related reconciliations including superannuation and STP obligations.
- Update static data as required
- Maintain compliant policies including confidentiality, and procedures for processing payroll payments.
Accounts
- Process term invoices and sundry invoices as appropriate.
- Establish payment arrangements for parents experiencing financial hardship.
- Maintain recurring payment program for payment plans using Westpac Payway.
- Monitor enrolment withdrawals and subsequent refunds where applicable.
- Process refund of parent holding deposits
- Review and reconcile debtor's ledger monthly.
- Assist with adhoc accounts payable duties as required
The successful applicant will operate with a high level of confidentiality and integrity, and adherence to financial reporting and compliance requirements is essential.
This is a part-time role (at the premises) for a total of three days per week (0.6 FTE) working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Key Selection Criteria
Essential KSC:
- Experience in Payroll and Accounting, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 months experience in a finance environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work productively with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
- Ability to multi-task, manage time and problem-solve, in a fast-paced environment.
- Current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
Desirable KSC:
- Experience in Employment Hero and XERO, or other similar applications.
- Experience in VECTEA or other industrial awards essential.
- Experience in dealing with a large amount of data.
- Experience preparing reports for management.
- Experience in not-for-profit organisations.
