Look no further - our team is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll and People Analyst to drive the seamless and accurate processing of payroll, together with our payroll provider, all while contributing to the business intelligence of our thriving People function. This role could be full time or part time.
About the role
As our Payroll and People Analyst, you will be the engine behind our payroll processes, collaborating closely with our outsourced payroll provider to handle fortnightly payroll for over 350 employees across Australia and New Zealand, including executives and directors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting all functions associated with the preparation, review, and completion of each authorised pay run.
- Providing a high-quality, compliant, and customer-centric payroll coordination service for the Group.
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and entitlements.
- Maintaining meticulous employee files and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HRIS profiles.
- Develop and maintain all Payroll and People reporting, providing meaningful analysis on data trends and insights.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on key people-related KPIs for key stakeholders.
- Analyse headcount, turnover, and other relevant data to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyse survey, performance data and other feedback mechanisms to assess and improve employee engagement.
- Collaborate with the P&C team to implement initiatives that enhance workplace satisfaction.
Day to day you:
- Showcase your cost management skills and be a key player in managing costs of our payroll vendor, contributing to process improvements, and identifying cost-saving measures.
- Deliver key reports and analysis including completion of end-of-month reporting, monitoring payroll accounting activities with the vendor, as well as maintaining headcount, turnover, and other people-related metrics.
- Present meaningful analysis and insights to the People team and contribute to monthly board reporting on Payroll and People metrics.
- As the systems go-to person, maximise the use of Elmo and Payroll Metrics, ensuring data integrity and utilising reporting functionality in both systems.
- Prepare all monthly, quarterly and annual P&C reporting, submitting all required reporting such as WGEA, benchmarking data, and annual remuneration review data.
About you
You have comprehensive experience in Australian and New Zealand payroll with deep knowledge of modern awards, and legislation, including the BFI Award and the Holidays Act 2003. You're a meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to data analysis and payroll operations. You have a proven analytics superpower and enjoy making sense of seemingly disparate data into meaningful insights. You have a knack for unravelling complex puzzles and thrive on putting your strong analytics and problem-solving skills into action. To top it off, you can present intricate data in a clear and relatable manner. You are comfortable in data visualisation tools, HRIS systems - not just tech savvy but a tech superstar.
