Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer or Senior Payroll Officer to join their tight-knit payroll team on a full-time and permanent basis.

About the role:
Reporting into the Payroll Lead you will be responsible for full end-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly and monthly basis for 500 employees. Your duties will include:
Setting up new starters and processing terminations
Sorting and organising payroll paperwork from various locations
Accurate recording and maintenance of timesheets and leave entitlements
Ensuring employees receive approved benefits and allowances
Accurate recording and allocation of payroll costs
Interpretation of awards and EBAs for timesheets
Distribution of pay advices and reports to employees and locations
Generating statistical information on costs, retention, transfers, etc.
Managing taxes and associated payroll costs, meeting deadlines
Handling superannuation processing and lodgment monthly
Reconciling and transmitting EFT files to financial institutions
Ensuring payroll operations meet company standards
Maintaining personnel files and filing weekly
Communication with personnel at all levels
Updating HR Business Partners on payroll concerns and information
About you:
You are an experienced Payroll Officer or Senior Payroll Officer with a high level of attention to detail. In addition, you have:
5+ years of experience in a similar position
Strong understanding of end-to-end processing including and payroll tax
Experienced and comfortable with using with a system that requires some manual work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Excel
The ability to utilise critical thinking and problem solving
Full and unlimited Australian working rights
