Our core business facilitates the hiring, selling, servicing, and transporting of construction equipment including scissors, boom lifts, telehandlers and forklifts to the Construction, Material Handling and Mining sectors.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Payroll Manager to join our finance division. This role will be responsible for the management of all of payroll groups nationally, in addition to taking full ownership of the payroll function.

This is an office based role working Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm, the responsibilities include;

  • Manage the timely processing of all employees' pays.
  • Checking and auditing of all payrolls, ensuring legislative and award compliance (e.g., ATO, FWA)
  • Supervise / Administer the calculation and accurate payment of any wages (e.g., Terminations, Redundancies, Bonuses)
  • Liaison with management and staff regarding all pay enquiries.
  • In partnership with Finance, manage the preparation and reconciliation of fortnightly / monthly general ledger wage journals.
  • Manage all statutory obligations - PAYG, payroll tax and superannuation.
  • Full function payroll processing including reporting, reconciliation, and tax/compliance.
  • Generating reports related to employee information.
  • Data entry and maintenance of employee records.
  • Manage and develop payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and support as necessary.

The successful candidate will be an individual who will honour our core values of People, Safety, Respect, Communication and Continuous Improvement - in addition to this they will have;

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll processing and management.
  • Experience with payroll software and systems, knowledge of Definitiv payroll system will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working across multiple business entities, managing 5 + payroll runs a fortnight
  • Managing and maintaining employee payroll and personnel details for 400+ employees
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of all legislative, taxation, superannuation and worker's compensation requirements.
  • Advanced degree in computer literacy (including proficiency with Microsoft Excel).
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional data entry and administrative skills, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail.
  • Great teamwork & interpersonal skills.
  • An energetic, positive attitude; and a strong commitment to OH&S.
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy with great communication skills allowing you to present to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and be self-motivated.
