The hotel offers 238 rooms, an on trend open kitchen and bar and meeting venues for up to 120 delegates.

There is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance professional join our team as Payroll Officer on a Part-time basis, three days per week with the possibility to work extra days during peak seasons.

Reporting to our Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient payroll service to the hotel and all team members across the business, and participating in payroll related projects as required.

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Keep up to date with requirements for the configuration and intended use of payroll systems through software updates, QHA newsletters, ATO, FWA, Access and TimeTarget web sites
  • Be available to assist team members with payroll requests, such as payroll related i.e. changes TFN, bank account updates and leave cash out requests, pay discrepancies.
  • Ensure Integrity of data within Wage Easy Payroll System and updating employee records in the payroll system i.e.: changes of employment, new rates of pay
  • Ensure Accor employee transfers IN / OUT are done in a timely manner and in accordance with the Accor Policies and current legislation
  • Process wages based on approved hourly rates or salaries including allowances, leave types and deductions using imported time & attendance data interfaced from Time Target.
  • Process terminations including exit emails, and calculation termination payments
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained as set out in the National Employment Standards for wages e.g. pay slips
  • Generate reports after each payroll and distribute to department managers
  • Submit wage easy audit reports to the Assistant Financial Controller/Financial Controller
  • Develop and Maintain a thorough understanding of the Time Target System and train Time Target champions to understand and use the system to its best advantage (smart rostering and wage control)
  • Complete end of month payroll processes (reporting and general journal preparations)
  • Complete end of financial year payroll processes

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • Intermediate level experience in finance / payroll roles within a dynamic and busy environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or Business Administration an advantage
  • Understanding of the Hospitality Industry & General Modern Award (HIGA) and Fair Work Australia National Employment OR a genuine interest in learning employment relations
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine and engaging personality. Fluency in English on a business level a must. Additional languages a plus.
  • Highly organised with an eye to detail and an ability to effectively manage priorities
  • Have the ability to think on their feet and problem solve
  • A team player with the capability to build report with all departments in the business
  • Goal driven with the capacity to work unsupervised
  • Professional image with high standards of grooming and presentation through and interpersonal skills
  • IT knowledge using Wage Easy, Time Target/Human Force, Purchase Plus an advantage
