This dynamic role would report to the Group People and Culture Manager with the overarching objective being to manage the creation, processing, and archiving of weekly employee wages for 2 businesses. This role includes completing end-of-month payroll processes and undertaking various tasks essential for the efficient operation of the payroll department. This is a Monday to Friday position based at our Eagle Farm Dealership. This is a not a hybrid or work from home role.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Accountable for creating, processing and archiving of weekly employee wages
- Maintain accurate records and reporting
- Perform audit checks
- Performance of end of month duties
- Process and monitor Workcover claims
- Completion of payroll account reconciliations
- Reconciliation and payment of all payments as required, eg. Child Support, Payroll Tax and Superannuation
- Maintain yearly PAYG and payroll tax reports
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Completion of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
- Acquire Award, Fair Work Act and Workers Compensation knowledge
To be successful, you will require the following;
- Computer literate with MS Word and Excel
- Proficiency in using payroll software/systems to process wages, manage employee records, and generate reports.
- Understanding of relevant employment laws, tax regulations (PAYG, payroll tax), superannuation requirements, Fair Work Act, and other statutory obligations.
- Ability to handle large volumes of data accurately, maintain records, and ensure data security and confidentiality.
- Understanding of financial concepts related to payroll, such as deductions, allowances, benefits, and financial reporting.
- High level of accuracy in data entry, calculations, and documentation to minimise errors in payroll processing.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, errors, and anomalies in payroll data and take corrective actions promptly.
- Capacity to analyse payroll reports, trends, and data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees, managers, and external stakeholders regarding payroll inquiries, issues, and policies.
- Capability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines (e.g., end-of-month, end-of-year payroll activities), and manage workload efficiently.
- Ability to adapt to changes in payroll processes, software updates, and regulatory requirements.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices in payroll administration.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with HR, finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues and improve processes collaboratively.
