Job description
This position is responsible for processing and managing the City’s payroll, leave and superannuation functions, as well as performing associated administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Considerable knowledge and demonstrated experience in interpreting industrial instruments and legislation
Comprehensive knowledge of Australia Taxation Office Regulations as they relate to the payment of salaries and wages.
Intermediate to advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Complex numeracy skills and a sound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Ability to consistently demonstrate City’s customer service principles and maintain confidentiality as required.
Undertake regular payroll audits for quality assurance purposes and review business practices, recommending enhancements where required.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualification in relevant field, e.g. Finance, Accounting.
Substantial payroll experience in a multi-disciplined organisation.
Experience in applying and interpreting Awards, Industrial Agreements, legislation and policies.
