Strandline is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our business with responsibility for payroll across the Strandline Resources Group.
This part-time role will be 3 days per week based on the Perth CBD office.
Your role
- Process end to end payroll in accordance with Awards, employment contracts, organisational policies and relevant legislation to payroll deadlines
- Run end to end monthly and fortnightly pay runs
- Evaluate timesheets
- Understand and interpret relevant industrial agreements, including Awards
- Process long service leave, redundancy, super, child support, state payroll tax, severance funds etc
- Maintenance and administration of single tough payroll information
- Provide payroll reports to meet organisation and statutory requirements
- Prepare accurate payroll tax returns and group tax payroll reconciliations
- Maintain employee information and ensure compliance, record keeping, and audit trails are accurate for data such as around leave entitlements, variations or deductions
- Manage new starter employees and onboarding to payroll
- Calculate and process relevant final payments, such as terminations and redundancies
- Process novated leases relating to payroll
- Process all expense claims
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to have payroll information timing up to date
- Work collaboratively with Finance and Human Resources team
- Investigate and resolve payroll queries
- Identify and recommend continuous system and process improvements
- Implement paperless streamlined timekeeping system
About you
- Relevant payroll experience in an organisation that has employees working across various rosters, which requires processing based on relevant systems and timesheet analysis
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously in payroll role function
- Demonstrated experience to successfully gain understanding of systems and continuous improvement requirements
- Strong experience using ERP system is essential
- Candidates with previous Pronto experience will be highly regarded
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Packages - particularly Excel required
- Certificate 4 in payroll administration (valued)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (valued)
- High level of confidentiality and attention to detail essential
