The Role
As a Senior Payroll Officer at CSE, you will be joining a growing team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse national business. Leveraging your extensive experience in payroll processing, you will ensure that our payroll operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with tax legislation.
You will work with HR and other stakeholders to understand pay rates and conditions to accurately apply them to payroll, minimising any abnormalities or mistakes and creating a more efficient process. You will also be involved in working with our systems to ensure that we are maximising our potential and continuously improving the way we do payroll across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that payroll processing is completed on time, is accurate, and with a focus on providing a hassle-free client experience.
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation and reporting requirements of different states and territories.
- Complete superannuation reconciliations and lodgments
- Accurately report, manage and lodge payroll information through our system.
- Resolve escalated payroll issues and queries, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and external authorities when necessary.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation that may impact payroll processing.
- Complete year-end payroll activities and reconciliations.
Requirements
- Minimum two years' experience in a similar role, managing payroll for multiple clients ideally in a senior capacity.
- Payroll software experience is essential; Definitive experience will be highly regarded however using other payroll systems will be considered favorably.
- In-depth knowledge of Modern Awards and tax legislation to the extent it relates to payroll processing.
- Ability to manage multiple business streams and their payroll demands, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
