TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:
• Ensure the payroll database is current and all information is correct.
• Check and process Shire pay runs on a fortnightly basis.
• Manage, co-ordinate, perform, and control the efficient operation of the payroll section within time and
legislative constraints.
• Liaise, and manage all aspects of Workers Compensation, including insurers and other agencies as required.
• Record and maintain tax details according to Australian Taxation Office statutory regulations.
• Ensure Record of Attendance timesheets are compliant with recording keeping requirements.
• Provide creditors with the necessary paperwork creditor deductions on a fortnightly basis.
• Assist in reconciliation and upload superannuation to the clearing house on a fortnightly basis.
• Interpret and apply relevant Long Service Leave regulations including calculations for liability transfers.
• Assist employees with any payroll related queries.
Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
• Sound knowledge of payroll and accounting principles.
• Advanced Interpersonal and communication skills and experience
• Minimum 2 years in payroll.
• Experience in local government, ideal but not essential.
• Knowledge of Industrial Awards.
• Knowledge of relevant Council policies and procedures.
