Focus Minerals (FML) is a new Australian gold producer with tenure in Coolgardie and Laverton, two exciting gold regions based in Western Australia. FML is the largest landholder in the Coolgardie Goldfield region, with over 450sqm of tenements near is 1.2mtpa Three Mil Hill Processing Facility, with an extensive pipeline of projects and significant regional exploration potential. Resumption of operations commenced in 2023, FML has now commenced the planning and execution phase of bringing on its Bonnie Vale underground operation online.
About the role
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, we are currently seeking an experience Payroll Officer, who is interested in growing their skills in human resources and learning how to be a HR Business Partner. Working in a small HR team, you will manage a monthly payroll of approximately 110 employees using ELMO (Keypay) software and support the business by providing high level customer service and support to leaders and employees.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process monthly payroll using ELMO software
- Management of payroll, recruitment and HR inboxes
- Support payroll audits as requested
- Generate payroll reports and analyse statistical data, as required
- Assist with recruitment, selection and onboarding of new employees
- Issue Employee Contracts, Employment Variations and HR Notifications
- Compile monthly reports using ELMO HR System ensuring integrity and accuracy
- Develop key relationships in the business
- Manage HR purchase orders and invoices
- Other HR tasks as required
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Experience using ELMO (Keypay platform) payroll system
- High attention to detail and level of accuracy while processing payroll
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Working knowledge of current payroll practices, including but not limited to roster management, leave accruals and TOIL accruals
- Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards, ensuring that you remain up to date of employment law and compliance requirements
- Previous experience working within the mining/resources industry will be highly regarded
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work autonomously while building collaborative relationships
- Ability to analyse and communicate financial information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
