About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced Payroll professional to join the Business Services team due to the pending retirement of our long term Payroll Officer. This role works from our Head Office location at Angle Park, SA.
Reporting to the CFO, the role involves responsibility for processing the payroll function for the business, across multiple awards, agreements and disciplines within both field and executive classifications.
The main focus is:
- Timely and accurate payroll processing (weekly)
- Maintaining and updating payroll system
- Payment and reporting of monthly payroll deductions including superannuation
- Review weekly time cards and process via Vista Payroll
- Production of payroll related reports
- Maintain personnel and payroll files
- Completion of all required ABS forms
- Process end of month reports and reconciliations on Vista Payroll
- Respond to payroll related queries.
Skills and experience
About You;
- Qualifications/certificate in finance or accounting (desirable)
- Knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations and legislation
- Proven experience in processing payroll for greater than 150 employees
- Demonstrated experience and capacity with payroll packages, e.g. Sage/MP, MYOB, Quickbooks or Vista.
- Strong database knowledge, including Excel skills/capacity
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Ability to investigate issues/payroll related questions and find solutions
- Experience in interpreting Awards and EBA's (desirable)
- Demonstrated ability/experience in meeting regular deadlines (deadline focused)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
