One of the key business changes yet to be rolled out will be within the payroll space – a project to bring the outsourced payroll inhouse, using Employment Hero, and the continued support of the payroll function, by the newly created standalone Payroll Officer position.
Your Contribution
Reporting directly to, and working closely with the CFO, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate payroll for 200+ employees on a fortnightly basis.
- End-to-end payroll processing, including onboarding, calculating terminations, reviewing timesheets, managing leave entitlements, and overseeing overtime and related aspects;
- Accurately interpreting and applying Australian awards and taxation legislation;
- Manage all employee payroll related queries;
- Set up and maintenance of employee records on payroll system;
- Payment processing of superannuation and payroll tax;
- Payroll related reporting such as Single Touch Payroll;
- Month end and year end processes reconciliations;
- Assist the CFO with payroll related employee budgeting and reporting; and
- Work with the CFO on continuous payroll system and compliance improvement.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a standalone or end to end Australian payroll position;
- Knowledge in all technical payroll activities, encompassing Australian statutory Awards, and compliance-related requirements;
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and professionally;
- Strong communication and dedication to building a responsive, professional payroll function and reputation; and
- Exposure to payroll related project or systems work would be beneficial.
