The Payroll Specialist will execute the Payroll function for the APAC region (Australia & New Zealand with the possibility of expanding to other APAC countries). Primary responsibilities will be to provide payroll support and execution across all aspects of Payroll Management, working closely with stakeholder teams and Xplorers.
- Be the SME for ANZ payroll by providing context and solutions to stakeholders and Xplorers.
- Continuously review, or develop as necessary, Standard Operating Processes for the APAC region to ensure accurate, lawful, and timely payroll processing for all ANZ payroll
- In cooperation with system owners, develop and deploy reporting to capture and control exceptions to ensure payroll is executed without errors.
- Execute timely and accurate pay runs in line with regional payroll schedule.
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of payroll data submitted to the third-party provider, reviewing reports and conducting regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Act as the point of contact for addressing employee inquiries or issues related to payroll, working closely with the third-party provider to resolve any concerns.
- Generate and analyse payroll reports as per schedule and on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Continuously identify opportunities for streamlining and improving payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience executing Australia and NZ Payroll
- Sound knowledge of Australia and New Zealand statutory payroll requirements with a proven ability to interpret and apply in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working in a similar role with exposure to third-party processors. ActivePayroll ideal.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- A proactive, professional, and customer-focused approach.
- Self-motivated critical thinker with the ability to operate with a high sense of urgency.
