Position Summary
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer who is interested in working on either full time or part time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for the timely processing and payment to Apprentices and Trainees. Efficient payroll processing is of importance as well as maintenance of the payroll data and files. You will be part of the team who will work on the implementation of a large new national payroll system.
Principle Outcomes
In this role, your key performance objectives will be:
- Manual coding and data entry of timesheets
- Processing payroll
- Invoicing Employer Partners
- Be able to work unsupervised and meet daily deadlines
- Good understanding and interpretation of Awards and EBA's
- Solving enquiries from Apprentices and Trainees, as well as Employer Partners.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Process weekly Apprentices & Trainees payroll
- Set up files for new starters and process termination payments
- Check and generate invoices for Employers Partners after each pay run
- Answering enquiries from A&Ts and Employers Partners, i.e. phone calls and emails
- Periodically advises on and monitors remuneration payable and paid to Apprentices and Trainees
- Participates in IT systems changes and implementation
- Assists in the development of processes and procedures
- Periodically refreshes own training in own role in aspects of IR Legislation, Awards etc
- Some payroll testing as new system being implemented
- Any other duties in the finance and payroll departments as required.

Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in working in as a Payroll Officer with a large volume of clients
- Great attention to details
- Previous experience in the recruitment industry would be an advantage
- An ability to work to tight deadlines.
