My client is a leading medical device manufacturer based in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. They are currently looking for an experienced Payroll and HR Specialist to join their business on either a fullTime or a Part Time basis (3 days per week).
This individual will be responsible for end-to-end payroll functions as well as supporting their HR Manager with HR administration and internal project tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing the fortnightly and monthly payroll of permanent and casual employees within the business
- Prepares and processes payroll related tax lodgments
- Calculates periodic financial accruals
- Records, maintains and terminates all employee information within the current systems with strict adherence to privacy and security guidelines
- Develops and prepares regular spreadsheets and (ad hoc) reports as required
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on payroll related topics and questions
- Supports HR in maintenance of files and new contracts for employees
- Supports in the preparation for yearly compensation reviews as well as bonus calculations and payouts.
- Identifies and contributes to continuous improvement activities to optimize and stabilize payroll processes
- Supports and contributes in Finance or HR related projects
- Onboarding / offboarding of staff
- Writing employment contracts
- Work with stakeholders in the business to support team members
- Performance management processes and devising staff remuneration, rewards and recognition and wellbeing programs.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
- Ideally a Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or similar
- Proven experience as Payroll and working in a HR support role
- Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Workcover, PPL etc
- Experience and understanding of Awards
- ERP / payroll & HR software experience
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong ethics and reliability
- Ability to systematically think through a problem.
