Our client Hillwood Berries have been successfully producing berries for years in Tasmania, and have established and continue to expand their Queensland operation and are finding new opportunities for growth in Tasmania.They are invested in their people and have a vacancy available in Payroll and Recruitment.
The vacancy comes at an exciting time, with an improved payroll system to be implemented in early March and opportunities to build and established processes in Payroll and Recruitment. The role will also be responsible for recruitment of workers in Australia.
You will have the opportunity to support the business’ growing labour hire to farms and wineries throughout the Tamar region.
Hillwood Berries are proud of their seasonal workers, the majority of whom are from Timor Leste, Tonga and Samoa. The successful applicant will be someone who enjoys engaging with and supporting workers, particularly workers from varying cultures, including assisting to understand their pay and supporting their induction and departure process.
To be successful in the role you must be able to:
- Interpret and apply awards and government policies/guidelines.
- Develop and implement processes to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll and recruitment including answering and investigating payroll questions.
- Analyse reporting and take corrective actions.
- Provide advice to managers, supervisors and workers in relation to payroll and recruitment.
- Facilitate recruitment including advertising, participating in interviews and selection processes.
- Engage with workers, particularly those for whom English is a second language, in a friendly and open manner.
