The Opportunity

Our company is in an exciting period of growth and with that in mind, our Payroll team are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join their team. Your extensive end to end payroll experience will ensure that our team continues to excel in providing efficient and accurate payroll services to our staff, who are distributed across multiple locations within NSW and SA.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager this role is based at our National Support Office in Pymble. This role will need to assist the team in running all aspects of weekly and fortnightly payroll for all of our staff. 

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, we are looking for an individual to efficiently manage their workload including all aspects of weekly and fortnightly payroll for their allocated employees. 

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate payment of all payruns for all employees on a weekly and fortnightly basis
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process and proactively locate ways to maintain payroll system integrity.
  • Review and approve payroll file (batch) created to ensure accuracy and adherence to relevant regulations and employment agreements.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to a team of payroll officers which may include: train new staff member, assign task, manage workloads and ensure the team meets deadlines and performance targets.
  • Strong ability to interpret and adhere to industry Enterprise Agreements, awards and NES.
  • Assist payroll manager in developing and maintaining payroll policies, procedures to be in line with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure the organisation’s payroll practice align with legal obligations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team in resolving/reviewing complex payroll calculations and transactions such as bonuses, commissions, variable pay and terminations.

Aboout you 

  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a payroll team
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in managing (directly or indirectly) other team members to achieve an outcome
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high quality outcomes and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships
    Proficient computer skills, particularly with MS Office and intermediate to advanced excel skills

  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with complex matters.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have working rights in Australia
  • Current Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
