About the role:
We are currently seeking an Advisor to join our People & Culture team. Reporting to the National IR/ER Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate advice and support to the business regarding performance, industrial and employee relations matters.
This role primarily acts to deliver generalist People and Culture activities and coaching, with specific focus on advising employee and industrial matters and People and Culture policies, education and processes across the business to minimise risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of team members, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage and resolve escalated employee relations issues, including grievances and complaints, conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations and identifying appropriate escalations.
- Liaise with senior leaders to determine investigation outcomes, up to and including terminations, and support leaders to deliver the outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of people management skills and leadership capability across the business, including ongoing advice, support and coaching and training.
- Assist with the development and execution of proactive performance management and succession planning strategies.
- With support and guidance, deal with Fair Work and other legal matters as required (investigate claims, liaise with external parties and represent the business in conciliations and hearings).
Essential Criteria:
- 2-5 years of ER/IR experience.
- Demonstrated professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced, multi-site organisation.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, capacity to work without supervision and confidence in decision making.
