Our mission is to be the leading organisation in the ACT providing safe, respectful support for all women who are impacted by domestic and family violence, homelessness, the criminal justice system and/or alcohol and drug dependency.
ABOUT YOU:
• At least 3 years experience in a generalist HR role
• Community sector experience a bonus
• Diploma or Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources preferred
POSITION SUMMARY:
The People and Culture Advisor is responsible for providing day to day HR support to staff and supporting the leadership team in effectively managing the organisation's HR function. The P&C Advisor is responsible for supporting and advising managers on the recruitment and onboarding of all staff as well as providing HR policy guidance and interpretation, and coaching and mentoring people leaders and employees.
The P&C Advisor acts as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and staff, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and effective HR service for everyone at Toora Women. The P&C Advisor is required to commit to, support and promote the organisation’s Vision, Mission, Values, and the strategic and business direction of Toora.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 3 years HR Generalist experience combined with HR qualifications
• Strong understanding of Australian HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations
• Demonstrated experience with HR areas across the employee life cycle including recruitment, performance management, & generalist HR advice.
• Exceptional verbal & written communication skills, with success in negotiating with and influencing others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
The P&C Advisor is responsible for:
• Supporting HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll processing, HR advisory, employee relations, performance management, employee development, and exit management
• Overseeing the day-to-day HR Operations and acting as the first point of contact for employees to answer day-to-day HR-related questions
• Managing the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a great experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles
• Creating clear policies and processes that help ensure we are compliant with our legal obligations and support staff in their roles.
• Fostering a positive organisational culture and demonstrating the Toora values
• Identifying individual capability development requirements based on business needs
• Developing training and development programs for employees based on identified capability gaps
• Supporting the implementation of HR initiatives across organisation
• Building strong relationships with employees at all levels.
