Job description
Key responsibilities:
* Communicate effectively with clients on a wide range of human resources matters, maintaining a positive client service approach.
* Provide HR advice and support to management and staff on terms and conditions of employment, including the interpretation and application of various acts, awards, certified agreements, directives, policies and procedures.
* Liaise with Queensland Shared Services (QSS) to ensure employees are appointed and paid correctly and establishment changes are actioned in an accurate and timely manner.
* Process and quality check documents, forms and information relating to Crown Law's human resource activities.
* Provide assistance and support for a range of recruitment and selection processes, including developing and updating role descriptions and recruitment related activities such as criminal history checks, employment commencement paperwork and appointment processing.
* Facilitate Induction of new starters
* Develop, maintain and regularly update databases and registers.
* Maintain Crown Law's personnel/payroll records and ensure all staffing information is up-to-date
* Contribute to the achievement of Crown Law objectives and priorities through the application of HR knowledge and experience, including the review and maintenance of policies, procedures and forms.
* Assist with the development, interpretation and analysis of HR data, reports and submissions to support teams with workforce planning and operational matters and formulate corrective and performance improvement actions where required.
* Assist with the development and delivery of HR training and the preparation of informative communication, promotional resources and other related documentation for the Crown Law intranet and website.
* Ensure a high level of accuracy in all documentation and record keeping
* Assist with the facilitation of forums, workshops, information sessions and training.
* Contribute to the development, implementation and review of practices and procedures.
* Comply with departmental and public sector policies and guidelines.
* Provide advice and guidance to clients and staff on human resource management delegations, legislation, policies and practices.
* Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
* Draft and format letters, memos, and other documents.
* Prepare reports and statistical information, providing this information to managers and other clients.
* Contribute to team projects and initiatives as required.
