SHAPE is a nationwide, ASX-listed fit-out and construction services business with a team of more than 600 people working across Australia. Our expertise spans the commercial, hospitality, heathcare, education, and retail sectors. And we’ve been doing it for over 30 years.
About the role
Partner with our leaders, managers, and people on applying SHAPE’s people approach, whilst also providing support and guidance on the employee experience. This role works closely with the Recruitment and Learning & Development team to create a seamless experience for our people.
We aren’t your standard People & Culture team, we aim high and have fun whilst working hard. People & Culture is always on the agenda for our leaders, and we like to push the envelope. Our vision is to be a ‘Great Place to Work’, and we are regularly surveying about culture and being awarded for it. The People & Culture Partner will be an integral part of our team and the business with responsibilities such as;
- Providing support to state leadership teams and being their first point of contact for all People and Culture related matters
- Partnering with managers and providing advice on people management, developing highly effective teams and building a constructive culture.
- Coaching managers and providing guidance on our policies and procedures, workplace relations issues, performance improvement and legal compliance.
- Administering the formal performance management and remuneration life-cycle at SHAPE.
- Managing the employee exit process, monitoring trends in churn to create opportunities for improvement.
- Being a point of contact for people to discuss career development, policies and procedures, and general enquiries.
- Be the point of contact for your stakeholders for all recruitment and training needs and report back to our centres of excellence in the Recruitment and Learning teams who will make it happen
- Collaborate with the People and Culture Team to support creating a great place to work and a constructive and inclusive culture.
Why we’re a great place to work
When we ask our people what they most enjoy about working here, they always say ‘the people’. We work hard but we also support each other every step of the way. On top of this:
- Everyone gets an ‘Individual Flexibility Plan’ that matches their work/life needs. This includes 5 days’ Life Leave every year on top of your annual leave entitlements.
- We offer a tailored skills development roadmap to fast-track your career.
- We don’t want to brag, but we’ve won the Human Synergistics culture award for six years running.
- You have the potential to share in our business’ success and earn up to 15% of your remuneration through our profit-share schemes.
- We take inclusion and gender equality seriously and back this up with our Diversity and Reconciliation Action Plans.
- Flexibility to work from home! We go to our amazing CBD office at least 3 days a week.
- Packed schedule of social events – we like to party!
- You’ll have opportunities to give back by getting involved in our CSR initiatives.
Being a tight-knit team, this role is best suited to those who like to collaborate and can think big picture, but are very much able to get their hands dirty and juggle competing priorities. That said, we would also love someone who is:
- Tertiary qualified in Human Resources and/or Business combined with over 4 years experience.
- Understanding of HR Principles and current Workplace Relations legislation.
- Ability to quickly build and maintain key relationships remotely.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A systematic approach to working and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work to changing priorities and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and administration skills.
- Capacity to travel interstate regularly and work within different Australian time zones.
