We are currently seeking a talented and experienced People & Culture Generalist to join our team and play a key role in supporting our workforce and our future people strategy.
ADA breeds, trains and places assistance dogs with Australians in unique situations. We currently specialise in support for people with a physical disability, autism or post-traumatic stress; as well as providing a range of services to these individuals and their families. Our assistance dogs provide independence, self-esteem, improved health and relationships to individuals and families – resulting in stronger and more successful communities.
Position Overview
In the newly created role as HR Generalist at ADA (part time 4 days per week) you will be an integral part of our small Human Resources team. You will be contributing to the support, development and implementation of HR initiatives that align with our business objectives and future facing strategic plans. This role requires a versatile professional who can handle various P&C functions including administrative management, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
You would report directly to the People & Culture Manager and between you both deliver the P&C support to the business.
About You and Your Experience
- You must hold full working rights in Australia
- Qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role
- Solid understanding of HR principles, employment laws and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- You thrive being a contributor to our People & Culture vision
- Possess naturally strong levels of empathy and understanding
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a genuine ability to connect and build rapport
- Ability to work autonomously whilst contributing as part of a close-knit team
- Have strong ability to balance your daily priorities and an ability to pivot when needed
- Proven ability to maintain accurate data and reporting
- May already have or happy to provide an NDIS Workers Screen Check
- The role is also eligible for 'not for profit' salary packaging - up to $15,900 a year
