The Role
Chris O`Brien Lifehouse is seeking a motivated Pharmacist to join the Clinical Applications Team to assist in the implementation of new Electronic Prescribing software and to optimize current dispensing processes. Using your knowledge and expertise in hospital dispensing, you will work closely with the pharmacy dispensary and vendor to identify and resolve issues with existing dispensing software and to test and implement electronic token-based dispensing. You will also assist with post-live optimisation of the inpatient electronic medications management project.
You will be responsible for:
- Detailed software and integration testing and working with vendors on issue resolution.
- Detailed test scripts and testing documentation
- Lead the implementation of new Electronic Prescribing software including the development of training materials and training end users.
- The implementation of electronic, token-based dispensing software including integration with existing systems and processes
- Assist with any additional tasks relating to the implementation of other electronic medications management projects as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- A registered pharmacist, preferably with pharmacy experience in a hospital dispensary, with an interest in digital health transformation.
- An understanding of Prescribing and Dispensing workflows and legislation including PBS claiming.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a multi-disciplinary team at both clinical and technical levels.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently to meet delivery dates.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience using Pharmhos Merlin
- Experience with project implementation.
- Experience with software testing and issue resolution.
