Mater Health is looking for an experienced inpatient Physiotherapist to join the team based at our South Brisbane campus in a casual capacity.
As a member of the Physiotherapy team, you will provide patient centred, evidence based clinical care in various caseloads such as; cardiorespiratory, medical, cystic fibrosis, surgical, oncology, breast surgery and rehabilitation. This position may work across the breadth of our seven-day service, including weekend and after hours shifts.
Salary range: $37.13-$54.43 (HP3) per hour plus 25% casual loading, superannuation and salary packaging
What you'll be doing
Typical tasks of the role include:
- Undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols
- Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
- Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers
- Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies
- Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise
You will be a AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. You will also meet the below criteria:
- At least twelve months experience working in an acute hospital setting is strongly desirable
- A well-developed level of physiotherapy clinical knowledge in the area of acute care physiotherapy. Intensive care skills are desirable but not essential.
- A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Physiotherapy clinical services commensurate with level, and to manage a varying caseload from day to day, including provision of an appropriate clinical handover as required
- Demonstrated attributes of solutions focus, flexibility and resilience
- Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with profession and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
- Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire skills to identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities that improve clinical services and patient outcomes
